- Unhappy Birthday Re: “Katrina”; Professor Denounces Me As Constitutional “Extremist” For Opposing Federal “Disaster Aid” The following is an interview I did with Elizabeth Hayes Turner, co-author of “Galveston and the 1900 Storm” - a book about September 8, 1900, a day when a Category 4 storm hit Galveston, then a city of about 38,000, and one the most prosperous in Texas. After the storm, between six and ten thousand people were dead, and more than three quarters of the city was completely destroyed. Turner was, when we had our discussion, a professor of history at the University of North Texas. 08/30/07
- No, No, NO! This Is NOT The Proper Use Of Duct Tape Michael and I have, on occasion, on our radio show, resorted to the use of duct tape to prevent certain parts of our respective heads from leaving said respective heads due to having to comment on exceptionally outrageous, head-exploding items in the news. This, we believe, is a responsible and honorable use of duct tape. In fact, we believe duct tape should ALWAYS be used responsibly and honorably. Thus, because we believe duct tape should ALWAYS be used responsibly and honorably, we feel obligated to denounce the use of duct tape to, for example, attempt to conceal one’s identity while robbing a liquor store – which Kasey Kazee (shown here) has been accused of doing and has been arrested for, in Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Kazee got away with no loot because he was tackled by a store employee in a parking lot, allegedly, according to press reports. - J.L. 08/23/07
- The Long History Of Lies for War John Quigley’s book has a valuable main thesis and, I suggest, an even more valuable claim that underlies this thesis. The purpose of his book, Quigley tells us, is to explore “U.S. military actions abroad over the past half-century. We look in each instance at what the president and his aides said, and what reasons they gave. Then we examine the situation in light of what is known today to determine whether the administration was truthful” (pp. 14-15). 08/14/07
- The Minnesota Bridge Disaster And The Falling Tower In Siloam: Message Is Repent Or Likewise Perish!, Says Our Lord Bridge collapses and coal mine cave-ins remind us all of what we already know – that any one of us could die, any time, any day, in the blink of an eye. Commenting on and explaining the above verses that deal with the fall of this tower in Siloam — an instance of people being taken away by sudden death — the great Puritan Bible scholar Matthew Henry says: 08/14/07
- “Pluralism” Is The Alibi Of The Indifferent, The Cowardly, The Empty-Headed Not until the democratic revival of the French Revolution did the idea occur to anyone of putting an end to the pluralism of the ancien régime. Then to “cut down the height by a head” became all the fashion. During the last weeks of the reign of terror a law was passed declaring that church spires were to be demolished because they offended against the principle of equality. When Robespierre fell, the town council of Strasbourg were just setting about demolishing the spire of the cathedral. The pick-axe was added to the guillotine. In Alsace anti-pluralism raged particularly loudly: the women were forbidden to dress in French fashion, and the Jacobins reported angrily that the inhabitants did not use the “republican language,” i.e. French. 08/11/07
- Communist Church/State View Sounds Sooooo Familiar n the summer of 1917, two Soviet Communist theorists, N. Bukharin and E. Preobrazhensky, wrote “The ABC Of Communism.” What they said about Communism and its incompatibility with “religion” sounds a lot like some of the God-hating claptrap we hear in our country today from anti-Christians such as Barry Lynn. Here’s some of what these two communists wrote explaining how “social development is not brought about by any kind of supernatural forces” and predicting that the “childish notion” of religion would disappear: 08/03/07
- Nursing Fathers “It is beyond dispute that, at a minimum, the Constitution guarantees that government may not coerce anyone to support or participate in religion or its exercise, or otherwise act in a way which ‘establishes a religion or religious faith, or tends to do so.’” — U.S. Supreme Court 08/02/07
- Supposedly Tough-On-Crime Rudy Giuliani Repeatedly Praised Veterans Of Sex Perverts/Sodomite Riot Against NYC Cops Well, amen! We do, indeed, have to have friends. We are social creatures; no man is an island. And our friends reveal a lot about who we are. Speaking of which, you should know that when Rudy Giuliani was Mayor of New York City, he repeatedly honored and posed for photographs with members of an organization called “STONEWALL Veterans Association” (SVA). For example, in a “Dear Friends” letter to this group dated June 25, 2002, Giuliani extended his “warmest regards” to them on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion which he called “a triumph at a time when the struggle for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights was beginning.” Hailing the SVA for having “preserved the spirit of the original rebellion” (an allusion to our War For Independence), Giuliani praised this group for its educational program which, he said, helps others to learn about “the cause, the history and to fight prejudice.” 08/01/07
- Election Sermons Urged Election Of Christians Only, Men Who “Subjected Themselves To The Rule Of Christ’s Kingdom” As we approach a national election next year, we would do well to ponder and meditate upon what Christian pastors used to preach regarding who is qualified to hold elected offices. 08/01/07
- How About, First, A “Stable” Washington DC, Mr. President?; Then You May Think About Saving The Rest Of The World What to say when there’s nothing to say, when you’re faking it, like President Bush is when he talks about what he’s trying to achieve in his unGodly, unConstitutional, unnecessary war in Iraq? Well, use a buzz-word. Use a buzz-word that at first sounds great, a buzz-word that makes your head nod in approval – a buzz-word such as “stable.” The problem, of course, is, after hearing such a buzz-word, which is never defined, upon reflection, say two seconds later after you’ve heard the buzz-word, if you have a brain, you realize that you have no idea what exactly, or even approximately, the meaning is of the buzz-word “stable.” 07/31/07
- Tolerance Should Be Shown To What God Says About Homosexuality Managing editor Len LaCara decried the intolerance of our community in a recent Sunday editorial. I also would like to see more tolerance, but tolerance of something besides what he proposes we tolerate. Liberals propose we tolerate homosexuality and pornographic literature in our public libraries. I propose we tolerate the standards of morality found in the pages of the Bible. 07/26/07
- As Usual, Anti-God’s Law Person Declines To Debate, Present Her Plan For Running The World Rena Levin is National Grassroots Organizer for the wretched Barry Lynn’s “Americans United for Separation of Church & State.” I saw her quoted somewhere (can’t remember where) criticizing and mischaracterizing what “theocracy” means. I sent her an email asking: “Why are you opposed to ‘theocracy’ which is simply Godly rule?” I said my question was not rhetorical; I would appreciate a reply. I sent her a copy of Dr. RJ Rushdoony’s article about theocracy which is on our Web site. Here is her response with my comments: 07/26/07

- Will Al Gore Run? WILL AL GORE run for President in 2008? I would say ‘yes’ because of this photo sent to me from an anonymous source close to what will be the Gore campaign. It shows him being re-booted, re-programmed, so when he announces his Presidential candidacy, he can talk about something other than ‘global warming.’ – J.L. 07/19/07

- Hell and the High Schools This is one of the anti-evolution posters seen around town in Dayton, Tennessee during the famous 1925 Scopes Trial when a biology teacher was prosecuted for teaching evolution in a public school. Kind of sums up things rather well and succinctly, don’t you think? 07/19/07
- Pro-Life Leaders Wrong About Supreme Court PBA Decision; Celebrate Murderous Rulings By Republican Appointed Judges This past month, five WND (“World Net Daily”) pieces have run regarding our widely-publicized open letters to Dr. James Dobson in which we document the 30-year failure of the pro-life movement. Long ago, National Right To Life devised a strategy of introducing laws to regulate child-killing, and now in order to defend those immoral tactics, many of our greatest Christian leaders have adopted the secular humanist principle of moral relativism. The bad fruit of all this is a federal judiciary stacked with Republican pro-choice judges who reject the personhood of the child, and who issue murderous rulings celebrated by pro-life leaders. 07/16/07

- Epitaph For Western (Christian) Civilization, Part Umpteen: Hindu Priests Praying Before Congress* This story reminded me of an interview I did on October 10, 2000, with Rep. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) who is now a U.S. Senator from Ohio. Brown had sponsored a Hindu priest to open the House of Representatives with prayer. Here’s our conversation in its entirety: 07/10/07
- Caption This Photo And Win A Prize! That’s right. Caption this photo, be one of the top three selected and, as the headline says – “Win A Prize!” But, no, your prize will not be like just any old contest where you win a prize and you get something. No, sireee! You win First Prize in this contest and you get to pay us $25 per month so we can keep these contests going (and our Web site and radio show.) Second Prize, you pay us $50 a month; Third Prize, you pay us $100 a month. And if your caption is the worst one of all those received, you must send us a blank check and we will fill in the amount. Now, get to it! Happy captioning! – but not too funny because we need the money… 06/28/07
- “Politics Of Appeasement” Has Gotten Pro-Life Movement Nowhere A few days ago I joined with several pro-life leaders in signing an ad that focused attention on Dr. James Dobson and other Christian leaders who had celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision in the Gonzales v. Carhart case. We did so because it is of specific concern to each of us that the facts contained in the actual Supreme Court decision and its ultimate impact on our struggle to end abortion are not clearly understood by some-and perhaps intentionally distorted or ignored by others. 06/27/07
- Exclusive Interview: Jim Corsi Discusses Political Philosophy, Abortion, Sodomite “Marriage,” Voting Twice for Bush (!) and More… “World Net Daily” (5/7/07) has carried an article mentioning Jim Corsi as a possible Constitution Party Presidential candidate. Will he be? I have no idea. But, I did interview him (5/17/07) on a variety of issues and here’s what he had to say. The occasional background noise you hear is because Jim was at an airport when I spoke with him. — J.L. 06/27/07
- I Hate Green Eggs But I Love Ken Ham! I love Ken Ham because he’s a Christian with a brain and he has the guts to defend the faith. I also love him because he drives the God-haters nuts - or I should say he drives them even nuttier. 06/26/07

- Failure Of Conservative Movement Is Failure Of Churches, Clergy Who Lack Biblical/Theological Roots The failure of the conservative movement in the United States has been a failure of the churches. This has been true in other countries as well. With rare exception, conservatives have lacked Biblical and theological roots. This is not surprising, given the fact that the clergy are themselves abysmally ignorant. 06/12/07

- Pro-Abortion NARALers Hold Mother’s Day Brunch; Program Features Mom Pushing Baby Carriage! That’s right. The folks who defend “a woman’s right to choose” to have her unborn baby murdered in her womb – 44 million-plus such murders since 1973 – were celebrating “Mother’s Day”! To be sure they were “honoring Motherhood by choice!” Can you believe this motley crew would have the gall to have anywhere on their website the word “mother,” much less a silhouette of a mother pushing a baby carriage? 06/05/07
