President Bush trails Michael Peroutka by 45 Points!
On November 2, 2003, Howard Dean said, "I still want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks." Less than one week later, after countless editorial cartoons portraying Southerners as poor white bigots, Governor Dean recanted saying, "I think I made a mistake - I apologize for it."
There is an undeniable and hostile bigotry held against the South, her cause and her people that encourages candidates to apologize for the votes they receive from "guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks." Given that, it may seem odd for me to report to you that I am proud to be leading in a poll conducted by The Dixie Daily News. In this poll, President George W. Bush is trailing me by nearly 45 percentage points!
You see, I agree with R.L. Dabney when he wrote in the Preface to
his book, A Defense of Virginia and the South,
"To the conquerors of my native State, and perhaps to some of her sons, a large part of the following defense will appear wholly unseasonable. A discussion of a social order totally overthrown ... will appear as completely out of date to them as the ribs of Noah's ark, bleaching amidst the eternal snows of Ararat, to his posterity, when engaged in building the Tower of Babel."Only to the architects of our current Tower of Babel, is it unseasonable and unpopular to recall the salvation God provided to our Founders through the erection of our Constitutional Republic.
Right now, please email the Dixie Daily News 2004 Presidential Election Poll with the following message:
I choose #1, Michael A. Peroutka for President. I am from YOUR STATE and support a civil government that will acknowledge God as the source of Law and Liberty, defend the family and will restore our Constitutional Republic. You may also tell them that I am proud to be a member of League of the South. I look forward to receiving the support not only from guys with Confederate flags in their trucks, but also those with the Southern Cross in their hearts.
