Read My Lips - No More Income Tax
Dear Friend of the American Constitutional Republic:
April is the month when we pay our taxes. The Tax Foundation says that this year Americans will still spend more on taxes than we spend on food, clothing and medical care combined. And about 75 percent of our families pay more in Social Security and Medicare taxes than they do in income taxes.
There is also something called the Alternative Minimum Tax --- the AMT --- which you may not have heard about. A "Newsweek" magazine article says the AMT is like a piranha that’s escaped into the swimming pond and is biting everybody. The Tax Policy Center estimates that by the year 2010 the AMT will gobble up some $40 billion, or 34 percent, of the income tax cuts we supposedly got in 2001.
And the tax code is still a nightmare from Hell. A publication called "The Federal Standard Tax Reporter" --- the so-called bible of the tax business --- has grown by a third during the past three years to where it is now more than 60,000 pages!
So, what’s wrong with this picture? Well, just about everything. Taxes are crushing us at the Federal level because those running the national government --- Democrats and Republicans --- do not care if what they are doing is Constitutional or not. Stephen Moore, president of The Club for Growth, has estimated that 90 percent of what the Federal Government does is unconstitutional --- illegal --- lawless.
So, if you want the biggest tax cut in history, then I ask you to vote for me. I am the only Presidential candidate who means it when I say: I will obey the Constitution, so help me God...
As President, I would work to repeal the Sixteenth Amendment, abolish the IRS, eliminate the income tax and other Godless forms of taxation such as the property tax and the inheritance tax. As President, I would go back to the original design of the Founders, which was to sustain the legitimate role of the Federal government through excises, imposts, duties, and apportionment among the states.
