- Message From Michael: Merry Christmas! In addition to being the Publisher of this Web page and co-host of “The American View” radio show, I am — with my brother Steve — co-founder of “Institute On The Constitution.” The “IOC” recently had its Christmas Party where the proverbial good time was had by all with the praising of God, beautiful singing and excellent musical performances by very talented people who we were blessed to hear. And I made some remarks about Christmas. Please click here to see some of what happened on this wonderful evening. God bless you all. 12/21/06
- The Death of a Party The saddest part for me is my simple faith. I truly believed that the Party could be “saved” from itself. That the mistakes which had been made were just that - honest mistakes. My eyes are now fully opened and my disappointment is complete. The Constitution Party is no place for anyone with principles. If you are a “Club 2000” member who sends money to the Constitution Party on a regular basis, I’d reconsider that investment since it is clear that your money is going to fund people who are without principle or a conscience. If you are a member of a state that has not already disaffiliated and has no plans to do so, I would encourage you to reconsider that as well. The Constitution Party is no place for principled, pro-life people to call home any more. As of January 1, 2007 I will no longer be a member of the Constitution Party of Wisconsin and it is my hope and prayer that the CPoW acts immediately to disaffiliate from the CP National. My reasons are my own and I will provide more detail next week. For now, don’t worry - the door was no where near me on my way out! 12/08/06
- The Ultimate Blasphemy This rumination regarding the early days of TV is because I got to thinking about those Saturday morning shows like “Fury”, “My Friend Flicka”, “Sky King” and a host of cartoons and serials that got us up early and kept us distracted from the chores we were supposed to be doing. (In my case it seemed like I was always assigned to cutting grass, which I enjoyed, and cleaning the garage, which I didn’t.) 10/04/06
- Do What’s RIGHT; Forget About The “Boogie Man” A correspondent in our “Forum” recently mentioned the “Council For National Policy” asking if it’s true that Michael Anthony Peroutka spoke to this group. Well, yes, he did, in New York City on August 26, 2004, when he was the Constitution Party’s Presidential candidate. His address was titled: “Do What’s Right; Forget About The ‘Boogie Man.‘“And I must say that Michael did an excellent job in his talk despite the fact that about two-thirds of the audience walked out on him when it was announced he was about to speak. Confronted with this shameful act of rudeness, Michael demonstrated himself to be a true Christian gentleman. I was never prouder to be an associate of his than on this particular day during our campaign. Here, for the first time on our page, is the text of his address. — J.L. 08/28/06
- How Should We Then Vote? These are just a few examples of questions that will help us to determine whether a candidate is qualified. I’m sure that this list could be expanded and improved or tailored to a certain portion of the country. My purpose here is to give you a start on what to ask and what to look for in an answer. Our failure to hold up a standard is what has gotten us into an ungodly, unconstitutional mess. To get out of it, we must think clearly and rightly and compel our representatives to do so as well. Their performance won’t be higher than our standard. Make sure it is a clear one. The right one. 08/08/06
- And Suddenly…It All Came Together! I got so excited that I started sharing the article with my friends and family. Last Friday, I read the entire article to my friend Ken as we drove to West Virginia to look after some property we manage there. I couldn’t get it off my mind. Not just because it is so explanatory about our dreadful fiat money system in these United States, but because it provides the practical means and methods — the strategy — needed to escape the ravaging effects of the fiat money system. Mr. Sanders suggests the solution as well as the problem. 07/20/06
- Family Correspondence…Rediscovered! On a recent afternoon I found a piece of mail between two random pieces of paper on my desk. The envelope was unopened and as I turned it over I saw that it was from my cousin Raymond. Ripping it open, I immediately noticed to my great embarrassment and chagrin, that the letter was dated October, 2004. 07/13/06
- Principles…Schrinciples Maybe I’m just a sucker. Or maybe I’m just overly sentimental. Or perhaps I’m naïve. In public speeches and many private conversations, I was led to believe that the leadership of the Constitution Party would stand firmly behind the 100% pro-life platform plank. 07/13/06
- From the Scenic (But Soggy) Severn The current struggle of the Constitution Party to live up to its motto of “principle over politics” is a case in point. Right now it’s raining pretty hard on the party and the outlook is gloomy, indeed. Many of the party leaders have become hopelessly compromised by their desire to grow the party and maintain the illusion of progress at the expense of sacrificing the previous 100% pro-life plank of the party platform…Dear reader, I pray that you (and I ask you to pray that I will) step confidently, knowing that we walk by faith and not by sight. Knowing this, we can be bold for Him. We can stand firmly on His promise that He will be with us and we can show our love for Him by following His commandments… 07/07/06
- TAMPA I: The Way I See It … Still: An Open Letter to the Executive Committee, National Committee and Membership of the Constitution Party From Michael Anthony Peroutka In summary, my position was that a vote to disaffiliate the Nevada party was proper and imperative for the viability of the National Constitution Party. As I saw it, Nevada had ALREADY LEFT the party and I gave reasons why that conclusion was mandated by the incontrovertible facts. This being the case, it was the affirmative duty of the National Committee to acknowledge and act upon that which had already occurred. Nevada had broken ranks and marched away. They were (and are) gone. 06/12/06
- The Way I See It We should acknowledge by our action the truth of what has already happened. Regrettably, Nevada has left us. They have already disaffiliated themselves. As stated above, I believe that we are obligated to acknowledge this fact with our vote. 04/17/06
- Courts Do Not Make Law There is an American View of law and liberty and government. It was articulated very clearly by our founders in the first paragraph of the primary document of our founding. This is not surprising because the fundamental ideas expressed in the Declaration of Independence were thoroughly leavened throughout the American culture at the time of the founding. They actually constituted the religious and philosophical worldview of America and were the underpinning of the argument that declared the former colonies to be free and independent states. 03/30/06
- Fayette County Review When our friend Michael Goza in Oakland, Tennessee, writes a letter-to-the-editor, it makes more sense than everything else on the editorial page combined. An example of what I’m talking about which I wanted to share with you is the following letter he wrote recently to the “Fayette County Review.” Excellent, Mike! God bless you for writing it. 03/14/06
- Are You Ready for the State of the Union Speech Game? Today, I feel compelled to bring you a few words of encouragement as you may need them if you choose to watch tonight’s State of the Union Address by President George W. Bush. 01/31/06
- W. Cleon Skousen, Founder of the National Center for Constitutional Studies, dies at age 92. Yesterday, a great hero of our movement left this world. Mr. W. Cleon Skousen, a visionary educator and friend of the American Constitutional Republic died at his home, surrounded by his family and his wife, Jewel, in Salt Lake City. 01/11/06
