Yep, that’s what History Professor Marc Egnal (York University) says in his interesting new book “Clash Of Extremes: The Economic Origins Of The Civil War” (Hill & Wang, 2009). It was, however, to put it mildly, sad to hear him say he would have sided with the murderous tyrant “Dishonest Abe” in the War Of Northern Aggression. Comments welcome on this interview.
