Cal’s Comments: Another Captive Set Free

There have been some dramatic and inspiring pro-life rallies, but nothing I’ve ever attended has topped the one Tuesday night, July 15, in Georgia. Several hundred Christian pro-life activists, applied our theology to our biographies by participating with “Operation Rescue/Operation Save America” in the streets of Atlanta July 12-20.
On Tuesday morning, July 15, abortionists and their employees were waiting for hundreds of us to show up at their killing centers. We did so, at most of the ones in the Atlanta metro area. Abortionist Tyrone Malloy had called a meeting for his bloody assistants the previous week to attempt to prepare them. Most of them are apathetic or hostile towards peaceful Christians who witness to them. When Pastor Dale Socia and his team of Christians showed up outside of Malloy’s death pit (killing 60+ babies per week for years without ever having a pro-life presence in front of them), one of the workers wasn’t swearing and yelling. As the Christians began praying, singing, humbly witnessing, and holding some signs, something broke inside of this struggling single mother with three kids.
Monique had been an “abortion clinic” employee for almost eight years, helping to murder the children and then examining their dismembered parts to m ake sure the butcher had removed everything. She had Satanic nightmares every evening her first two years of work, but then also began seeing demonic forms during the daylight. Taking drugs and drinking didn’t improve her life. She had been trying to find a new job for the past two years, but nothing worked out. She kept telling herself that she would quit right after vacation, after she got her next bonus check, etc. Her uncle, Rodney, sent her a devotional book and was praying for her.
As the praises to God ascended in front of her office last week, hope renewed. After briefly talking to one of the friendly Christian ladies, she quit her job and drove away. She showed up at the pro-life rally that night, bringing along her children and boyfriend. Publicly repenting of her sins, she prayed to receive Christ as her Savior. In front of hundreds of people, Flip Benham calmly asked her and her boyfriend if they were sinning by sleeping together while not married. They were. They repented. They were baptized in water as tears of deliverance, relief, and joy started. Full confession, full repentance bring full forgiveness and full cleansing through the Blood and love of Jesus Christ.
Monique did have her boyfriend move out. She came to our memorial service for aborted babies on Thursday afternoon and testified at our Friday evening rally. Yes, I cried while listening to her testimony and seeing this miracle of grace. Plus, she had gotten a new job Friday morning at a hospital. Here are just three of her quotes to all of us:
“When you all showed up, I knew you would help me.”
“I felt release as soon as I walked out of that place.”
“I felt like a new person when I came up out of the water.”
My children will never forget seeing and hearing how the Lord saved this lost soul. There were many other testimonies of people being led to Christ during the week. Babies were saved outside of the death pits. The Gospel was preached. Many thousands of Christian tracts were distributed. Untold tens of th ousands of motorists saw our huge signs and banners displaying pictures of aborted children. It was a glorious week of street ministry with precious Christians.

Do you know any friends or relatives who are lost in sin? Will you be like Uncle Rodney and pray for them and give them Christian materials to point them to Christ? Will you let Jesus use you to love and witness to lost and evil people? True, some of them may mock and be rejecting, but keep on looking for the people like Monique who are desperately hungry for help and just need somebody to show up and introduce them to the Savior. There are many of them out there.
Before our family got to Georgia, we stopped to see dear friends near Winchester, Tennessee . The men of this church are very serious about loving Jesus and seeing repentance come to our nation. They take turns fasting for forty days (water only) and praying. Steve P. is currently fasting (his fourth such one). They have a men’s prayer retreat every April, “Gideon’s Advance.” Yes, we fast at it while we pray and spur one another on to love and good deeds. Interested?

I highly recommend that all pro-lifers driving on I75 through Tennessee stop in Chatanooga at the National Memorial for the Unborn. (http://www.memorialfortheunborn.org/) This beautiful building and garden are on the spot of a former death pit where over 35,000 preborn children were murdered. It is a place of grieving, remembering, and healing. Reading some of the letters and plaques there were very good motivation and preparation for us to go to Atlanta and promote life. Out of the hundreds of plaques that people had left there, let me quote just three of them:

Sin deceptively looks like pleasure. It can feel that way for a season, but it always leads to death. Friends, there is grace available, through Christ, for us to refuse sin today and to abide in Him. Believing right leads to acting and speaking right. Without this foundation under our ministries or actions, we are working for things that we will later be punished for having.
