Cal’s Comments: Holiness unto the Lord! Victory! Another Baby Saved From Murder-By-Abortion!

Grumpy or cheerfully relieved are the people exiting traffic court in Aurora, Colorado. Most have had to miss work or school to come and face “the law” and pay fines for traffic violations. The relieved ones didn’t have to pay, but they are the lesser group. Because so many people are using one door to fund the city coffers early in the morning, it is a fine spot for a pro-life petitioner to gather ballot-access signatures and to talk to people about Jesus Christ. Most folks hear me ask, “Sir/Ma’am, are you a Colorado voter? Could you please help me with a signature on a pro-life petition? We’re putting an amendment on the ballot to define a person as a human being at fertilization.”
I still don’t know what one young lady thought she heard, but she burst into tears before this stranger and his cheesy cardboard clipboards. “I just found out last night that I’m pregnant, and I’m scared. I’m so scared,” she sobbed and began to shake.
Withing seconds I speed-dialed Mrs. Jo Scott, a dear friend and one of Colorado’s best pro-life sidewalk counselors. She answered her cell phone! “Hi Jo, here’s a young lady who is pregnant and scared.”
“Miss, this is my friend, Mrs. Jo Scott. She’s nearby and helps pregnant moms all the time.”
The Lord used Jo’s heart and words in a few minutes to melt the fears, stay the tears, and help to save another baby - in front of traffic court. GLORY TO GOD! Gladly she let me pray for her before she left.
Although there’s a mask of busyness on the faces of many people, will you ask God to give you some divine appointments today? Will you allow the Holy Spirit to prompt you today to minister His grace and love to the frightened or unlovely, His encouragement to the discouraged, His comfort to the worried? True, many people will be too pre-occupied or proud to want to face God or their spiritual needs, but be ready for the ones who are open. Being at the right place at the right time isn’t just for sports or sales, it’s also about abiding in the Vine and following the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
Jo called me this morning. She asked for prayer for her court hearing this afternoon. Her attorney is filing a motion for dismissal of the criminal charges against Jo for supposedly breaking a “bubble zone law” in Denver. Jo is facing fines and two years in jail if she is criminally tried and convicted for being on public sidewalks outside of abortion facilities and peacefully talking moms out of abortions. I’ll let you know next week how it goes for Jo.
